EDC (Everyday Carry)

The set of items carried daily. For shooters, usually a pistol, light, knife, and medical.

**EDC** — "everyday carry" — is the set of items a person carries every day. For the 2A community the term most often means the defensive kit carried concealed: a **pistol**, a **spare magazine**, a **knife**, a **handheld flashlight**, and — increasingly — a **tourniquet** or basic medical kit. The honest EDC conversation is about tradeoffs. A Glock 19 in a good AIWB holster is a defensive force multiplier; it is also a 23-ounce addition to your waistband that you will wear for 16 hours a day whether or not anything happens. Most carriers dial their kit backward over time — from large-and-comprehensive to compact-and-actually-carried. EDC culture has its excesses (photo layouts with four knives and three flashlights) and its honest work (people carrying a pistol every day for years who will never draw it). Both live here.
