Glock 19

The **Glock 19** is the compact 9mm pistol the rest of the industry still measures itself against. Fifteen rounds in the standard magazine, a 4-inch barrel, a striker-fired trigger with a consistent pull, and a reliability record built over more than thirty years of service and civilian use. It is neither the smallest carry gun, nor the most accurate competition gun, nor the most ergonomic grip — but it is the median right answer in enough categories that nobody has ever regretted owning one. Most people who "don't like Glocks" dislike the grip angle, the trigger feel, or the lack of external safety. All three are solvable with grip modules, aftermarket triggers, and training. Before deciding the Glock isn't for you, shoot at least one for a few hundred rounds.
