Arca vs Picatinny for a hunting bipod—which actually matters in the field?
Building a 6.5 Creedmoor for longer-range hunting on public land, and I'm trying to lock down the front-end setup. I can go either direction on the rail, but I want to know what I'm actually gaining or losing in practice rather than on a bench.
The Arca interface seems cleaner and faster to adjust, but I've never run one in the field. Picatinny feels simpler and more universal. I'll be hunting from ground level, some vehicle glass, and occasional hasty field positions. The bipod will get used hard and dirty.
Does the speed and rigidity difference of Arca matter when you're actually hunting, or am I overthinking this? And if I go Arca, am I locking myself into a specific bipod ecosystem, or can I move gear around without pain?
